The Chobe National Park is the northernmost park in Botswana and borders Namibia. The park is particularly known for its huge herds of elephants and buffalo, which stay in the dry winter months on and in the Chobe River and the other sparing water sources in the park.
Chobe is subdivided into four regions: Savuti, Linyanti, Ngwezuma Plains and the area around the Chobe River. At the edge of the national park there are also some concessions (private areas), which are only accessible to guests of the lodges or tented camps there.
