The 3 days gorilla safari is the shortest gorilla tour you can do in Uganda this tour always starts and ends in Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time at the Entebbe International Airport you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park the home to rare and endangered mountain gorillas and other primates. The drive from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park can take something like 9hours meaning you will spend whole the first day driving through the lovely sceneries of the country and pass through the countryside of Uganda enjoying to see how Ugandans start and ends their days and they do their day to day work.
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Bwindi National Park
On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will find when the tour guide and another representative from African Jungle Adventures Ltd already waiting to welcome you to Uganda. Then you will move straight to your safari vehicle from where you will be briefed about the trip and later the representative from the company will collect the balance from you, give you the receipt for the money before he waves you goodbye.
After all that, then you will be remained with only your tour guide to take you throughout the trip, there you will choose where you feel comfortable in the safari car and then your tour guide will get behind the wheel and start your full-day drive from Entebbe to Bwindi Forest National Park with en-route stop at the equator for some simple experiment there and lunch. Then after you will continue with your safari to the southwestern part of the country reaching there in the evening and check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Now, this is the D day of your safari. On this day you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast at the lodge, your tour guide will be already waiting for you with the car to drive you to the national park headquarters for a simple briefing about gorilla trekking. After the briefing from the ranger guide, you will be put in a group of 8 people and you will be assigned a gorilla group then your tour guide will drive you to the starting point of gorilla trekking depending on the gorilla group you were assigned to.
From there your group of 8 will be accompanied by the ranger guide and two armed guards and enter the think jungle where the ranger will be using a machete to try to clarify for you the way, from here the trekking has started, the trekking time is unpredictable but always depend on the movement of these animals in search for food and shelter. In most cases, the trekking period always varies from 1-5hours depending on your speed and where the gorillas spend their night that day. After meeting these amazing animals, you will be given a maximum of one hour to spend with them take photos and record videos and enjoy seeing them doing their daily activities.
After one hour you will go back to where you left your tour guide and drive you back to the national park headquarters where you will be rewarded with a gorilla trekking certificate and then you will return to your lodge for the late lunch and relaxation as you wait for dinner and overnight.
In case you still have some energy after the gorilla trekking you can also enjoy a community visit where you can have an evening walk around the nearby village and visit the local people and share their experience with you and later you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Departure
On this day, you will wake up a bit early depending on the time of your flight and have breakfast at the lodge before you transfer back to Kampala with lunch en-route reaching Kampala in the evening for last-minute shopping before you transfer to Entebbe international airport for your departure flight back home.
